Appnimi MD5 Decrypter attempts to decrypt MD5 hashes using brute force methods.

MD5 is an encryption method that inputs a character string of any length. It then outputs a fixed-length hash of the original string that can be used to verify the string without actually possessing it. It can be used, for instance, to verify passwords, digital signatures, data integrity and so forth.

While MD5 has largely been deprecated, it is still employed in certain scenarios. There are circumstances where it may be necessary to reverse the hash to the original string. While the reasons can certainly be black hat in nature, there are white hat reasons as well, such as recovering a lost password or reclaiming important data that has otherwise been corrupted.

Appnimi MD5 Decrypter is a tool for Windows that can help you recover such information. By design, there is no eloquent way to reverse engineer MD5 hashes, and so, brute force methods are required. The UI is rather straightforward and includes New, Start, Pause, Resume and Start.

The program includes a default dictionary. You can customize that dictionary. Users can also add one or more custom dictionaries, and you can select which dictionary to use during the current decryption. A large text box provides a place to enter the MD5 hash string to be decrypted.

Appnimi MD5 Decrypter also provides you statistics about the current operation, and these stats are preserved even when pausing and resuming. The stats include time elapsed, words per second, words processed, time remaining and words remaining. Note that time remaining is not a guarantee but rater a calculation of how long it will take to finish parsing what remains in the dictionary. Process is auto-saved at regular intervals, which means you can resume should there be a power outage or whatnot.

Be aware that MD5 decryption can take a very long time. The amount of time that may be required goes up as the dictionary size increases. There is also no guarantee that the effort will be successful. If the dictionary lacks the necessary words, then there is no chance of the program being successful. This is no fault of the program. It is the nature of the beast.

Note that this is a trial only. The trial version is not feature-limited. Nevertheless, if you are using it to reverse a hash, it will not provide you the result if successful. You will need to upgrade to the full version, at which point you will have access to the string that has been recovered. Your upgrade gets you three months of support and one year of upgrades, which is less of an issue now that updates have become so infrequent and the chance of this program needing an update have become slim.
